This treatment focuses on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the compensatory areas. Massage around the jaw, scalp, and upper back can be done, as well as intra-oral work on the pterygoid muscles in the mouth.

Massage with Cupping and Massage with Scraping

Skin scraping (or Gua Sha) is a part of traditional healing in China and South East Asia often used to treat chronic pain. Cupping involves suctioning the skin using silicone cups. These tools are used in conjunction with knowledge of movement patterns to improve function and movement with reduced pain. Either tool can often relax soft tissue more efficiently than just using hands alone. The goal is improving movement and reducing tone in limited movement patterns around the different areas of the body. Please note it is an additional $10 for these specialty treatments.
